Healthy Ground Turkey Lasagna (Easy Family Favorite)

Ingredients

Meat Sauce

  • 1½ lbs lean ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 (24 oz) jars marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Cheese Mixture

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

Lasagna Layers

  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to:
375°F

Lightly spray a 9x13 baking dish.


Step 2: Make the Turkey Sauce

Heat olive oil in a large skillet.

Add:

  • onion
  • garlic

Cook for:
3–4 minutes

Add ground turkey.

Cook until browned.

Add:

  • marinara sauce
  • Italian seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt
  • pepper

Simmer:
10 minutes


Step 3: Make the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl combine:

  • ricotta cheese
  • egg
  • Parmesan cheese
  • parsley

Mix well.


Step 4: Layer the Lasagna

Spread 1 cup sauce in the bottom of the baking dish.

Layer:

  • lasagna noodles
  • ricotta mixture
  • turkey sauce
  • mozzarella cheese

Repeat layers until ingredients are used.

Finish with:

  • sauce
  • mozzarella cheese


Step 5: Bake

Cover with foil.

Bake:
35 minutes

Remove foil.

Bake:
15 more minutes

Until bubbly and golden.


Step 6: Rest & Serve

Let lasagna rest:
15 minutes

before slicing.
