- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup finely crushed cornflakes, optional for EXTRA crunch 🔥

👩🏽🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the chicken.
Pat the chicken dry and slice it lengthwise into thin strips about the size of thick French fries.
2. Set up your breading station.
Place the flour in one shallow bowl. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
In a third bowl, combine the panko, crushed cornflakes, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, seasoned salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and cayenne.
3. Bread those babies. 😂
Coat each chicken strip lightly in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then press it firmly into the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.
Make sure every side is covered so you get that crunchy coating!
🔥 Air Fryer Method
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Arrange chicken fries in a single layer without overcrowding. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy and the chicken reaches 165°F internally.
🔥 Oven Method
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Place the chicken fries on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
Bake for approximately 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and cooked through to 165°F.
🍳 Fried Method
Heat about 1–2 inches of oil to 350°F.
Fry the chicken in small batches for approximately 3–5 minutes, depending on thickness, until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer to a wire rack or paper-towel-lined plate.
🥣 Dipping Sauce Ideas
Serve these babies with ranch, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, spicy mayo, buffalo sauce, sweet chili sauce, or garlic Parmesan sauce.
And if you’re like me… put out more than one sauce because we’re not choosing. 😂
⭐ Easy Eatz Expert Tips
Don’t cut the chicken too thick. Thin, evenly sized strips cook quickly and give you that chicken-fry shape.
For maximum CRUNCH, don’t skip the panko. Adding crushed cornflakes makes the coating even crispier.
Press the breading onto the chicken instead of just rolling it around. That helps keep the coating from falling off.
And don’t overcrowd your air fryer! Give those chicken fries some room so the hot air can circulate around them.
🧊 Storage
Store leftover chicken fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
🔥 Reheating
Air fry leftovers at 375°F for 3–5 minutes or bake at 400°F for 6–8 minutes until hot and crispy again.
Skip the microwave if you can—it’ll soften that beautiful crunchy coating. 😩😂
