Ingredients
Oxtails
- 3 lbs oxtails
- 2 tablespoons browning sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups beef broth
Lo Mein
- 1 lb lo mein noodles
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Sauce
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
Instructions
Step 1: Season the Oxtails
Season oxtails with:
- browning sauce
- soy sauce
- allspice
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- thyme
- salt
- pepper
Marinate:
2 hours or overnight
Step 2: Cook the Oxtails
Place oxtails in a Dutch oven.
Add beef broth.
Cover and cook:
325°F for 3½–4 hours
Until fork tender.
Remove meat from bones.
Reserve 1 cup of cooking liquid.
Step 3: Cook the Noodles
Prepare lo mein noodles according to package directions.
Drain and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Vegetables
Heat sesame oil in a large skillet.
Add:
- onions
- bell peppers
- garlic
Cook:
4–5 minutes
Step 5: Make the Lo Mein
Add:
- noodles
- shredded oxtail meat
Mix together.
Pour in:
- soy sauce
- oyster sauce
- brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- ginger
- garlic
- reserved oxtail broth
Toss until coated.
Cook:
3–4 minutes
Step 6: Garnish & Serve
Top with:
- green onions
- parsley
Serve hot.
